Assessments

Every assessment takes place in an environment where the learner feels comfortable and at ease.

Diagnostic Dyscalculia Assessment
Prior to the assessment, information is gathered through a questionnaire from home and, as appropriate, a school or educational setting. The face-to-face assessments are usually completed within one day and should take between 4 and 5 hours (with breaks). The tasks are short and often fun! The final report will be issued within 2-4 weeks. Please note the current age range for a formal diagnostic assessment is 8-18 years old.

Dyscalculia Screener
Before embarking on a full diagnostic assessment, a screener can identify gaps in knowledge and possible signs of dyscalculia. (from 7+ years through to adult)

Informal Gaps Analysis
This is a common request both from schools and individuals (from 6+years through to adults) where possible barriers and gaps in learning are identified.

Recommendations are shared for specialist teaching support with an optional add-on of intervention planning and delivery being available for schools. Some schools opt for incorporating CPD where a member of staff watches the delivery of the first intervention session and, after discussion, feels confident to deliver the remaining sessions.

Practical Information
Assessments can be administered in school or at home. Parents and carers are welcome to stay although from experience, children usually respond more naturally when their adult is not with them.
